Talwars to stand trial for Aarushi's murder, rules Supreme Court

Ghaziabad: Nupur and Rajesh Talwar will stand trial for double murder of their only child, Aarushi and their domestic help, Hemraj both found dead in their home in a suburb of Delhi in May 2008. The Supreme Court on Thursday morning denied their appeal to dismiss their trial, ordered a CBI court in Ghaziabad. Their trial begins open court. The The Talwars are accused of murder, destruction of evidence. Mr. Talwar face an additional charge of deliberately misleading the court.The Supreme Court said that the magistrate who asked the Talwars to stand trial presented a "plausible" that opinion. The Talwars were not in court when the order was passed against them. The two Supreme Court judges also rejected their appeal on the order of re-investigations into the case for major lapses in the first time around.The Supreme Court is the last stop for Talwars in their efforts to have charges against them dismissed. The couple, both dentists, say that the CBI, which investigated the case, pinning the double-killing them because it is to find the real killer. The evidence against them was circumstantial. The CBI believes that a golf club to recover from their home in Noida correspond to the damage found on the victim. The fact that the house was not damaged on the night of the murders suggests that some are responsible, the agency said in court.The murder weapon was never found. The CBI said that Hemraj and Aarushi died with "surgical precision" and suggested that it reflects the guilt of trained medical Talwars.In this version of events, the CBI told the court that the Talwars found their daughter in a compromising position with Hemraj and killed the teenager and the domestic help in a fit of anger.Aaurshi was found in his throat slit on the night of May 16, 2008, a few days short of his 14th birthday. Mr. Talwar in Noida police said that Hemraj was missing. Nepalese became the prime suspect and the police dispatched a search team to find him in his village. However, some time later, Hemraj was found dead in the Talwars' terrace. The CBI has accused Mr. Talwar of trying to mislead the investigators by pointing them in the direction of Hemraj. The Ghaziabad court handling the case has received the charges.Mrs Talwar was arrested on April 30 and became a prison in Dasna since then. Mr. Talwar, who was arrested a week after the double murders and released two months later for lack of evidence, bail was sanctioned a few months ago the Supreme Court. The CBI has appealed to the Allahabad High Court to cancel his bail.
